North Andover Plans Lake Cleanup, Roadwork and Community Services

North Andover News reports a Lake Cochichewick clean-up is planned for Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., meeting at the Stevens Pond parking lot. Volunteers will walk the shoreline to collect trash, and permitted boat owners are encouraged to help from the water. The article notes the lake level is currently low, making debris that is usually harder to reach more accessible.

Sections of Summer Street (between Salem and Farnum), Marbleridge Road (between Salem and Johnson) and Rea Street (between Johnson and Chestnut) are scheduled for roadwork, weather permitting, beginning the week of September 28. The town says full restoration of those streets will be phased into the multi-year roadway restoration capital program in the coming years.

The weekly newsbrief also lists community flu clinics, information on the spotted lanternfly, election worker recruitment, Wreaths Across America and the annual roads and sidewalks update. The town offers a downloadable employment application and a range of openings, from part-time recreation and library roles to patrol officer, water treatment and water/sewer maintenance positions, multiple motor-equipment operator roles, inspector of wires, library director, school crossing guard and a per-diem van driver. Scheduled meetings include a Select Board meeting on September 28, an info session on September 30 with the Greater Lawrence Sanitary District and the North Andover Cultural Council, and a Festival Committee meeting on October 1. Upcoming events and meetings can be viewed on the town website.
